2NE1 to Make a Comeback for 15th Anniversary Celebration

2NE1 is set to make a comeback to celebrate their 15th anniversary.

YG Entertainment, the agency representing 2NE1, released a welcome back poster on its official social media channels on the 22nd.

YG executive producer Yang Hyun-suk stated, "2NE1 was the first girl group to succeed under YG. The members expressed their desire to hold a concert to celebrate their 15th anniversary, and we held a meeting to plan 2NE1's performance within this year."

Yang continued saying, "The concert series will start in Seoul in early October, followed by performances in Osaka and Tokyo in late November and December. Additional schedules are being coordinated. I think this performance will be very different. The generations who grew up with 2NE1 and listened to their music share memories together. They have a lot of hit songs, and we want to work with all the staff to ensure a successful performance."

Sandara Park also posted on her personal account, saying, "What's up? We're 2NE1. WELCOME BACK."

2NE1 debuted in 2009 with 'Lollipop' and gained global popularity by introducing new music and concepts that broke away from stereotypes about girl groups. They surprised fans by announcing their breakup on November 25, 2016, leaving a legacy with hits such as 'I Don't Care,' 'Ugly,' 'I Love You,' 'Come Back Home,' 'I Miss You,' 'Fire,' and 'I Am the Best.'

Since their disbandment, the members revealed that they had not been informed by YG or CEO Yang Hyun-suk about the decision and learned about it through an article.

Expectations are high for 2NE1's comeback, marking their first performance in over eight years, promising to deliver a pleasant shock to their fans.
