Byeon Woo-seok's Controversy Over Excessive Security Addressed in National Assembly

Controversy over excessive security related to actor Byeonn Woo-seok went all the way to the National Assembly.

Lee Hak-jae, president of Incheon International Airport Corporation, was asked about
Byeonn Woo-seok at a plenary session of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee on the 17th.

In addition, a lawmaker of the Democratic Party of Korea said, "The airport is preferably a security facility. Special protection and management are needed for national security and public safety, and it is a big problem that this has happened." Lee Hak-jae said "The security company and the police consult, and the (Incheon Airport) Corporation is also notified by the police. This is the first time such a thing has happened since the airport was opened, so I couldn't fully anticipate it and come up with measures in advance."

"There are hundreds of celebrities travelling (overseas) a year, and there has never been such a special over-reaction by a private security company like this. I'll take this opportunity to take measures.
It is indeed an illegal act and an absurd situation. We are responsible for not having discovering it."

He also emphasized "
We will hold those responsible for controlling the gate without permission accountable and will take measures to prevent a recurrence. We will consult with the police to create rules of conduct at airports regarding private security companies and find ways to strengthen punishment."

Byeon Woo-seok was rumored to have been over-guarded by his security company while leaving for a Hong Kong fan meeting on the 12th.

After
Byeon Woo-seok entered gate 2 of the departure hall on the third floor of Passenger Terminal 2, guards from a private company blocked the entrance gate for about 10 minutes. When Byeon Woo-seok entered the prestige class lounge on the 4th floor, the bodyguards blocked the entrance to the escalator and reportedly inspected passengers' flight tickets and passports without permission.

As the controversy intensified, the agency Varo Entertainment apologized, saying, "We bow and apologize to the users who felt uncomfortable.
With a sense of moral responsibility for all unsavory matters during the course of security, we acknowledge that we failed to recognize the gate, flight tickets, and detailed security situation on the spot. "
But the aftermath continues. Byeon Woo-seok was filed with the National Human Rights Commission on the 15th for human rights violations, and Incheon International Airport Corporation is considering legal measures for the security company's unauthorized activities. The Incheon International Airport Police Force is investigating the three private bodyguards who caused controversy on charges of assault, coercion, and obstruction of business. The situation is worsening, with angry netizens also flocking to the agency's official account and posting complaints.
