Actor Hwang Jung-eum, who is filing for divorce, has started a new relationship with a basketball star. The romantic partner is known to be Kim Jong-kyu from Wonju DB Promy, but the agency expressed a cautious stance.

Hwang Jung-eum's agency, Y1 Entertainment, told Sports Chosun on the 22nd that "It is true that Hwang Jung-eum and basketball star A have recently become close, but they are still cautious."

Earlier in the day, E-Daily reported that Hwang Jung-eum was recently seen dating basketball star A in a public place. A close aide mentioned that the two got to know each other when Hwang Jung-eum was going through a hard time with her ex-husband Lee Young-don, a professional golfer-turned-businessman, and recently started getting to know each other carefully.

Since then, Hwang Jung-eum's romantic partner has been identified as Kim Jong-kyu, a member of Wonju DB Promy in Korean professional basketball. Kim Jong-kyu was born in 1991 and is seven years younger than Hwang Jung-eum, who was born in 1984. He is a basketball star from Kyung Hee University and has been a central player for the Wonju DB Promy team since 2019. Regarding this, Hwang Jung-eum's agency stated, "Please understand that it is difficult to confirm the facts about the actor's romantic relationship."

Meanwhile, Hwang Jung-eum announced through her agency on February 22 that she was filing for divorce from Lee Young-don. The couple, who married in 2016, experienced a crisis four years later but reported their second pregnancy after reconciling. However, three years after their reunion, Hwang Jung-eum filed for divorce from Lee Young-don, and they have separated again.
