On the afternoon of the 10th, the Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Chamber 26 (Judge Choi Min-hye) held the first hearing of Kim Ho-joong, who was arrested and charged with violating the law on the aggravated punishment of certain crimes (hazardous driving injuries, running away injuries), non-action after an accident under the Road Traffic Act, and criminal escape teachers.
On this day, Kim Ho-joong appeared in court limping on the official trial date, which required the defendant to attend.
About 40 fans were waiting in front of the courtroom to attend Kim Ho-joong's first trial, but only about 15 of them were allowed to enter because the number of seats in the courtroom was limited.
Fans who couldn't enter stayed in front of the court with a mournful look until the trial was over.
Fans who entered the courtroom shed tears when Kim Ho-joong limped into the courtroom.
Kim Ho-joong's first trial lasted 15 minutes, and Kim Ho-joong's lawyers said they could not read the case records and said they would clarify their position on the charges on the next day.
Lee Kwang-deuk, CEO of the agency, Thinking Entertainment, who was accused of destroying evidence, Jeon, head of Thinking Entertainment, who was accused of abetting drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act, and Jang, manager, admitted to the indictment. The lawyers of the three men said "All the charges are admitted"
Earlier, Kim Ho-joong is accused of running away after hitting a taxi while drinking and driving on the road in Sinsa-dong, Seoul, at around 11:40 p.m. on May 9, and having his manager turn himself in instead.
In particular, according to police statements and closed-circuit television (CC) by employees of entertainment establishments visited by Kim Ho-joong just before the accident during the police investigation, Kim Ho-joong was estimated to have drank more than three bottles of soju at the time.
However, considering that Kim Ho-joong drank several times at time intervals, the prosecution did not apply the drunk driving charge, judging that it was difficult to specify the drinking level only by calculating reverse estimates over time.
Kim Ho-joong reportedly agreed with the taxi driver, the victim of the accident, ahead of the first trial. In addition, Kim Ho-joong initially appointed Cho Nam-gwan, a former acting prosecutor general, and three lawyers for Dae-hwan, a law firm, but they have resigned.
In response, Kim Ho-joong appointed Dong-in, a law firm, as his new legal representative and prepared for the trial.
