According to the Korea Film Council's integrated computer network, 'Departure' attracted 112,658 viewers on the first day of its release, surpassing 'Inside Out 2' and ranking first in the overall box office. In particular, these results are all the more meaningful as Korean films have risen back to the top of the overall box office in 22 days.
The CGV Golden Egg Index recorded 92%, which is well-received 'escape', is expected to create explosive word of mouth and solidify its position as a box office powerhouse that will hit theaters this summer.
The movie "The Escape" is about a life-threatening chase between Kyu-nam (Lee Je-hoon), a North Korean soldier who began his escape for tomorrow, and Hyun-sang (Old Exchange), a security officer who pursues Kyu-nam to protect today. It is currently being screened in theaters across the country.
