"Promotion of K-cheering at the Paris Olympics"Hive, torchlight, and stadium motifs''Team Korea cheering stick'
Jul 09, 2024
Hive will provide a specially designed 'Team Korea cheering stick' to support the Korean national team participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics through the Korean Sports and Olympic Committee.
As part of the MOU for leading the culture of cheering for the Olympics signed with the Korean Sports and Olympic Committee in March, Hive will not only supply ▲ 5,000 cheering sticks developed with its own technology, but also collaborate with ▲Hive artists' supporting contents ▲Provide Hive label artists' contents in the local area in Paris ▲Team Korea official production.
First of all, we will actively use light sticks to create an atmosphere of support for Team Korea in Paris. From design to technology development and production, the team Korea cheering stick', which Hive has carried out, will be presented in two ways: TEAM KOREA OFFICIAL LIGHT STICK and TEAM KOREA OFFICIAL DIGITAL FLAG.
The light stick was designed with the Olympic torch as a motif. The Team Korea logo was placed in the transparent case at the top of the handle to preserve the identity of the Korean team. Under the logo, the light-emitting unit was conceived at Olympic Stadium and applied a pattern that looked like the stands were spreading from inside to outside. When the power is turned on, the visual effect of light spreading like a wavelength from the center is maximized, and various effects are designed to appear when directing lighting. Taegeukgi was added to the top of the cheering stick for athletes to differentiate them from the basic type. The athlete's cheering stick will be unveiled for the first time at the site of the Paris Olympic team's decision ceremony this afternoon.
Hive will provide 500 cheering sticks for the Korean team and about 4,500 basic cheering sticks at the Korea House in downtown Paris so that anyone who supports the Korean team in Paris can use them.
On July 27 (local time), a day after the opening ceremony, hundreds of people, including the team's family and key figures from all over the world, will gather in the outdoor garden of the Korea House to watch the Korean team's game and cheer together. Hive plans to provide cheering sticks to all attendees and to present 'Cheering Stick Directing' that adjusts the color and lighting rhythmically to the cheering chants.
Boo Seok-soon (Seungkwan, Dokyeom, Hoshi), a unit of the group Seventeen, a hive-labels artist, will also join Team Korea's support. Booseok-soon will be the first runner of the team Korea Cheer Challenge using the mega hit song 「Fighting」, and will show strong support using choreography to boost the cheering enthusiasm of the Korean team. Boo Seok-soon's challenge video will be released on SNS channels such as Instagram of the Korea Sports Association on the 10th, and the challenge video of the Korean national team players will be posted in a relay.
Meanwhile, Hive provides video content of Hive artists to the Korea House, which serves as the "Korea Public Relations Center" during the Olympics. In addition, Korea House will help promote and exchange K-content by holding a certification photo event using a large doll of the character 'Utter' made in commemoration of BTS Jin's single album 'The Astronaut'. Hive also plans to produce 'Cheering Slogans' as the official match of Team Korea and supply it to the Korea Sports Council.
"It is a very meaningful attempt for the entertainment company Hibro to present a new cheering paradigm by spreading the light stick that started with K-pop to the international sports stage," Hib said. "The value of the light stick, which connects many people with one light, is in line with the culture of cheering for the athletes with one heart."
