Singer Kim Min-ki, who has been working hard to cultivate junior artists while running the symbol of Daehakro Small Theater for more than 30 years, passed away on the 21st. He was 73.

According to the performing arts world, Kim Min-ki passed away on the 21st due to worsening symptoms of gastric cancer, his chronic disease. He is survived by his spouse, Lee Mi-young, and two sons, and the mortuary was set up at the funeral hall of Seoul National University Hospital. The coffin will be borne at 5:30 a.m. on the 24th, and the burial site is Cheonan Park Cemetery in Seoul Memorial Park.

Born in 1951, the deceased graduated from Seoul National University's Department of Painting and has been running a school exhibition, the symbol of Daehakro Small Theater, for more than 30 years. He contributed greatly to the theater industry to the extent that he produced numerous junior actors, and even produced stars while directing the performance. It produced the late Kim Kwang-seok, who met his fans through live performances, and also produced stars such as Na Yoon-sun, Jung Jae-il, and Yoon Do-hyun. In addition, actors Seol Kyung-gu, Hwang Jung-min, Cho Seung-woo, Kim Yoon-seok, and Jang Hyun-sung were also from 'hakjeon' and performed Korean-style musicals including 'Subway Line 1' to contribute to the performance industry.

Kim Min-ki also worked as a folk song duo 'Dobidu' and was famous for composing the representative song 'Morning Dew' while performing at the Myeongdong Tree Frog's House in 1970. The song, sung by Yang Hee-eun, was also called a song that contained the spirit of resistance during the 1987 Democratic Uprising.
