The late Hyun-chul, who made his debut in 1969 with his song "My Heartless Love" at the age of 27, lived in obscurity for a while and became a popular singer in the 1980s with hits such as "Sit down but stand and think about you" and "Love must be a butterfly."
In particular, the lyrics 'Bong Seon-hwa Yeonjung' released in 1988 were still popular, with the lyrics 'Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong-Tong. Hyun-chul, who won the KBS Song Awards for his song "Bong Seon-hwa Yeonjung", enjoyed his heyday by winning the grand prize for the second consecutive year with "I hate it" the following year.
The deceased had been working on a new song until the 2010s, but he was worried when he was struggling while singing 'Bong Seon-hwa Yeonjung' on KBS 'Song Stage' in 2018.
After undergoing cervical disc surgery several years ago, his health deteriorated due to nerve damage, and he has reportedly been battling the disease for a long time. He has one son and one daughter.
