Minho, a member of the popular K-pop group SHINee, will attend the 33rd Paris Olympics, which opens on July 26th (local time). He has been invited by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as part of the 'Olympics™ Friends' program. In this role, Minho will watch various games, experience the excitement alongside numerous spectators, and enthusiastically support the Korean team.
The 'Olympics™ Friends' program, to which Minho was the first in the world to be commissioned, is an initiative by the IOC aimed at involving celebrities to promote the Olympic values. Minho previously participated as a torchbearer in Chuncheon to promote the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games through the 'Olympics™ Friends' program. He also engaged with luge athletes and created content to provide a firsthand experience of the sport.
Additionally, Minho was involved in the public diplomacy campaign 'Girls Play 2!' in November 2017, where he delivered a congratulatory speech for the successful hosting of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. His involvement in the 33rd Paris Olympics is expected to draw significant attention.
In other news, Minho will star in JTBC's new Saturday-Sunday drama 'Romance in the House,' premiering at 10:30 p.m. on August 10th. He will portray Nam Tae-pyeong, a character known for his unique way of life. Minho is also cast as Val in the play 'Waiting for Godot's Day,' which opens at Yes24 Stage 3 on September 7th.
