Actor Son Ho-joon, in the pictorial released ahead of the opening of the play "Angels in America" on August 6, catches the eye with his intense visuals. The magazine 'Allure Korea' released a pictorial of actor Son Ho-joon, showcasing his striking presence.

Set in New York in the 1980s, the play 'Angels in America' is a representative work of American playwright Tony Kushner and has won the Pulitzer Prize, the Tony Award, and the Drama Desk Award. In this production, Son Ho-joon takes on the role of Prior Walter, an LGBTQ character and AIDS patient. This marks his return to the theater after 20 years, having debuted in the musical 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' a decade ago.

In the interview following the photoshoot, Son Ho-joon expressed his affection for 'Angels in America' and the character of Prior Walter. "I read a 100-page script at once. It's a well-organized and well-finished work. The reason I decided to study theater was because I wanted to delve deeper into the craft, and I thought there would be more to learn from playing a character so different from myself. It's the most unique character I've ever experienced," he said, raising expectations.

Prior Walter is a character with a strong personality, so the preparation process was unique. When asked about his character study process, he shared that he even attended a drag queen performance to better understand the character's world. "At first, it was unfamiliar, but after about an hour, my perspective changed completely. It's inspiring to see people express themselves so confidently. I have a great desire to incorporate the feelings I experienced then into my portrayal of Prior. Prior is a lovely and brave friend. The more I understood him, the more I saw him as someone who experiences the universal feeling of 'love'," he said with a twinkle in his eyes.

Son Ho-joon, who is returning to the stage for the first time in 20 years, also talked about the unique charm of theater. "In dramas and movies, actors receive scripts and develop their characters individually. In plays, however, actors gather for months to analyze their characters together. There's a lot to learn from the questions and answers that arise from this collaboration. It's a double cast with actor Yoo Seung-ho, and it's thrilling to see us express the same character in different ways."

Son Ho-joon's return to theater and his role in 'Angels in America' promise a compelling performance that is highly anticipated by fans and critics alike.
