Yoo Ah-in Denies Sexual Assault Allegations

Actor Yoo Ah-in has denied allegations of sexual assault against a man.

Bang Jung-hyun, a lawyer at the law firm Dongjin and Yoo Ah-in's legal representative, stated on the 26th that "The contents of the complaint regarding Yoo Ah-in are not true. We ask you to refrain from making unnecessary speculations about his private life."

Earlier, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul reported that they had booked a suspect on charges of sexually assaulting a man, identified as A, who was sleeping in an officetel on the 14th. Under current law, sexual assault by the same sex is treated similarly to rape.

It was found that the officetel was neither Yoo Ah-in's nor A's residence. Other men were also present at the scene at the time of the alleged incident. The police investigated the complainant the day before, and the complainant's simple drug reagent test was found to be negative.

A police official stated, "We have not yet contacted the accused," adding, "We will summon and investigate the accused in the near future." The police are also considering the possibility that the suspect, who is on trial for habitual drug use, committed the crime while under the influence of drugs.

Meanwhile, Yoo Ah-in was indicted without detention on charges of habitual administration of medical propofol 181 times at hospitals in Seoul from September 2020 to March 2022. He is also accused of illegally buying 1,100 tablets of sleeping pills in the name of another person 44 times between May 2021 and August 2022. Additionally, he is accused of smoking marijuana in the United States with four accomplices, including an acquaintance named Choi, and instructing others to smoke. On the 24th, the prosecution demanded a four-year prison term for Yoo Ah-in.
