Yoo Seung-woo's agency A2Z Entertainment said on the 26th that "Yoo Seung-woo will enter the military on September 2nd to faithfully fulfill his duty of defense."We will not hold a separate official event for on-site safety on the day of admission, and we want to create as many contact points with fans in performances and broadcasts through our new album before joining the army." After completing his training camp, Yoo will serve in the Army's military band for a year and a half.
On July 25, Yoo Seung-woo released his sixth mini-album and his first new album in three years. I worked on "Playlist" thinking that it was the last album that Yoo Seung-woo released before joining the military from the planning stage.
The title song 'Playlist' gave the most refreshing guitar-pop sound like Yoo Seung-woo, and in the ballad 'In the mood' featuring singer-songwriter CHEEZE, a sweet ballad, and 'How about you', heralding a more mature musical change in the future. As it was my last album before joining the army, I wanted to capture as many musical spectrums as possible.
In particular, the track 'As much as the love we shared' is a song about the fans who gave their love generously during their 11-year singing career ahead of their enlistment. Yoo Seung-woo played the guitar himself and recorded it in a one-take so that he could even hear the sound of breathing. Yoo Seung-woo clearly expressed his feelings of separation from his fans with the lyrics, "'Will there be great things in the future as much as the love we shared?' During his freshman year in high school in 2012, Yoo participated in Mnet 'Superstar K4' and made his official debut in 2013 with his mini album 'First Picnic'. This year marks the 11th anniversary of his debut, and he has released two full-length albums and six mini-albums, and was originally called the "Great Boyfriend" due to his handsome appearance and sweet voice.
