BTS' Suga Apologizes After Drunk Riding Incident on Electric Kickboard

While BTS member Suga fell while riding an electric scooter after drinking alcohol, the agency acknowledged the incident and apologized.

On the 7th, BTS' agency Big Hit Music apologized for the incident involving BTS member Suga's electric kickboard.

The agency stated, "Suga used an electric kickboard while wearing a helmet on his way home after drinking on the night of the 6th (Tuesday). He fell after moving about 500 meters and was fined and had his license revoked following a breathalyzer test conducted by nearby police." They explained how the incident occurred.

The incident did not cause any casualties or property damage, and he returned home under police supervision. "We apologize for the disappointment caused by the artist's inappropriate behavior," the agency added. They also mentioned that as a social service worker, Suga will receive appropriate disciplinary action from his workplace for actions that caused social controversy.

Finally, the agency stated, "We will be more careful to prevent this from happening in the future."

Earlier in the day, Yongsan Police Station in Seoul reported that Suga had been booked for violating the Road Traffic Act (Drunk Driving).

According to the police, Suga was found alone while riding an electric scooter drunk on the street in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu the night before. When the police went to assist Suga, who had fallen, they detected the smell of alcohol and took him to a nearby station.

The police confirmed that Suga's blood alcohol level was above the revocation threshold (0.08%). After completing the police investigation, Suga returned home.

Meanwhile, Suga entered the training center in Nonsan, Chungcheongnam-do in March to receive basic military training and is currently working as a social service worker. Suga's call-up date is June next year.
