On the 23rd, Chief Judge Lee Kwan-hyung of the Seoul Western District Court held the first hearing of the damage suit filed by V, Jungkook and Big Hit Music against Park.
On the same day, BTS' legal representative filed a lawsuit for damages to hold the defendant liable for illegal activities such as false facts and infringement of moral rights covered in the video that was found to have made significant profits from the production and publication.
In response, Park's legal representative insisted that "I admit that I uploaded the video" but that "Considering the method and content, it is only an expression of opinion and does not constitute a defamation of false facts."
He added that even if the false fact falls under timely defamation, some of the contents are not false and are produced for the public good, so that part is not recognized as liability for compensation.' It also did not reach the degree of infringement on the obstruction of business of Big Hit Music."
BTS also submitted a criminal complaint to the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul.
BTS's representative asked the court to proceed separately from the criminal case because it is impossible to predict when and how the complaint will come out, saying "It is a situation that has not been progressed since the filing of the complaint."
Earlier, V, Jungkook and Big Hit Music were defamed by Park in March", and filed a lawsuit for damages. The legal value is worth 90 million won.
