The 4th Criminal Chamber of the Seoul Western District Court will hold a sentencing date for Choi, who was indicted on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence (spreading photos using cameras and others).
Choi is accused of filming several scenes of sexual intercourse with A, who was dating from July 2022 to May 2023, and major body parts. Choi was found to have illegally filmed with a silent camera application installed in advance after encouraging the victim to have sex with an eye patch. There are as many as three victims.
In response, the prosecution demanded a three-year prison term for Choi. However, Choi appealed for leniency, saying, `I felt with my whole body that I had done something pathetic and should not have done.'
Choi debuted as an idol group member in 2017, but stopped working in 2019 for health reasons.
