Suga (Min Yoon-ki, 31) of the group BTS (BTS) will appear at the police 17 days after he was caught driving an electric scooter while drinking alcohol.

Suga will be summoned for questioning at Yongsan Police Station in Seoul on the 23rd. Suga, who normally went to work at an institution serving in the military as a social service worker, will finish his duty and attend the police.

As the fact became known, Yongsan Police Station was crowded with numerous reporters as of 4 p.m. Although Suga will appear at the police after work, a large number of reporters visited Yongsan Police Station to cover Suga even in the scorching heat from midday.

Suga faces summons 17 days after being caught by police for drunk driving. In response, some suspected that Suga might have seen preferential treatment due to the delayed-than-expected police investigation schedule.

However, the police say that it is the same standard as other suspects without preferential treatment or human rights violations. A police official said in a regular press conference on the 19th that the investigation team is coordinating the schedule due to various circumstances. We plan to finalize the schedule sometime this week and we won't call it at the weekend or at night."

As Suga attends the police, there are also observations that he can stand on the photo line. But the police said "We can't make a photo line on purpose. We will do it on the same basis as other suspects."

However, there is no separate underground parking lot in the annex where the Yongsan Police Station traffic investigation team is located. Since there is one entrance, there is a high possibility that Suga will be captured by the reporters. On the 22nd, there was also a happening in which numerous reporters flocked to Yongsan Police Station even in the heat wave from the early morning of the day as there was a misinformation that Suga would appear at the police station.

Attention is focusing on what Suga, who first appeared in the reporters after the incident, will say. In particular, Suga and his agency Big Hit Music were criticized for being different from the facts when conveying their original position on the incident.

Suga fell while riding an electric scooter near his home in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the 6th. At the time, Suga returned home on an electric kickboard after drinking at the dinner table last night through the fan community platform Weverse on the 7th. He violated the road traffic laws without realizing that he could not use an electric kickboard while drinking and thinking that it was a close distance. "I fell alone in the process of setting up an electric kickboard at the front door of the house, and there was a police officer around me, so I took a breath test and found that my license was revoked and a fine was imposed."

However, it was a 'electric scooter' rather than a 'electric kickboard', and a breathalyzer was seen on the sidewalk, not in front of the house. He also said 'I drove for a while after a glass of beer', but the blood alcohol concentration was reported to be over 0.2%, raising suspicions that Suga intended to reduce the incident.

According to CCTV released afterwards, Suga hit the boundary stone and fell while driving on the sidewalk in an electric scooter. After police rioters on patrol discovered Suga, they asked a nearby police station for support. As a result of the police's sobriety test, it was confirmed that the blood alcohol level was 0.227%, far above the standard for revoking the license (more than 0.08%).

In the future, there is a lot of speculation about the charges and the punishment of Suga. In particular, sugar's blood alcohol level is subject to aggravated punishment under the current law.

According to the Road Traffic Act, if the blood alcohol level is 0.08% or higher, the license will be revoked, imprisoned for more than one year and less than two years, and fined more than 5 million won and less than 10 million won. However, if the figure exceeds 0.2%, the punishment will be strengthened with imprisonment for more than two years and less than five years, and fines of more than 10 million won and less than 20 million won.

The revocation of the license has already begun administrative disposition. According to the Road Traffic Act, a person who has been denied a driver's license must return his or her driver's license to the head of the city and provincial police agency having jurisdiction over the address within seven days from the date the reason occurs.

If a person subject to the disposition of revocation of a driver's license submits a license, he/she may apply for issuance of a temporary driver's certificate to the head of the city and provincial police. The validity period of the temporary driver's certificate for the person subject to the revocation of the driver's license is within 40 days.

Usually, the revocation of a license is executed after the expiration of the temporary driving certificate. If Suga applied for the issuance of a temporary driving certificate, Suga's license revocation will take about two weeks as of the 23rd.
