Yongsan Police Station in Seoul reportedly plans to hand over Suga to the prosecution as early as this week on charges of drunk driving.
Asked about the timing of Suga's sending, Kim Bong-sik, head of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, said at a regular press conference held at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 26th, `The investigation was conducted last Friday and the case will be finalized soon.'
According to the police, Suga is accused of falling while driving an electric scooter on the road in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, at 11:15 p.m. on the 6th (under the Road Traffic Act). At the time of Suga's accident, the blood alcohol level was 0.227%, exceeding the license revocation standard (0.08%).
After the incident became known to the media, Suga reportedly told the police that he had `drunk about a glass of beer,' prompting criticism. In addition, in the process of posting an apology, he was criticized for lowering the level of punishment by expressing the electric scooter as 'electric kickboard'.
Suga, who is currently working as a social service worker, attended Yongsan Police Station on the afternoon of the 23rd and was questioned for about three hours. Suga pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol during the investigation, police said.
