Lee Min-ho and Kim Min-ha interviewed Apple TV+ original series 'Pachinko Season 2' at Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 23rd.
For Lee Min-ho, 'Pachinko' is a work that feels like it has opened a new chapter. It would not have been an easy choice for him to play a rather violent male character, who had reigned for a long time as 'Rock King'. In addition, it is no exaggeration to say that he opened a new chapter thanks to the work he joined after auditioning for overseas works.
Lee Min-ho said, `I think it was when I was thirty-three or thirty-four years old before my career as an actor and my 13th year of debut. When I needed new energy and my desire to be free was growing, I came across the script of 'Pachinko', and fortunately, while filming 'Pachinko', I experienced freedom with so good people and did what I wanted to do in a comfortable state without being trapped, so I think I grew up not as an actor but as a human Lee Min-ho. That's why I think it's good. The balance of personal life and work seems to be in a state of high satisfaction.
Kim Min-ha, who made her face known to the world through 'Pachinko' as a new actor, feels the same way. He said "In fact, as a career, Pachinko was a big starting point for an actor. After 'Pachinko' came out, I experienced things I hadn't done before, and many people recognized me for the first time and experienced that, but the reason why Pachinko is important to me is that I had time to get to know a lot about myself after meeting Pachinko. I learned a lot in front of a character called Seonja, and especially in season 2, I thought a lot that I wanted to think about that when I grow up. I've had a lot of conversations with me, and I think we've learned how to listen to other people's stories. I feel like I have a lot of leeway. I think it was still a precious and great blessing because it was a valuable work for human Min-ha."

Lee Min-ho also said, `I was personally satisfied with the audition process. It's been a very precious experience for me to prepare, spend time, and burn my passion in order to be chosen. The process was good, too. What I felt through 'Pachinko' was not really trying to act, but I think I felt that those people came. The audition process was detailed and took a lot of time, but in Korea, auditioning takes a long time 'Do I have to audition? It seems that there is a culture where there is something to do, but I think there was satisfaction with auditioning to the extent that I thought there should be auditioning for perfect casting.
Lee Min-ho said, "I'm communicating with Lee Jung-jae recently while working in Hollywood. The person I communicate with the most as an actor is Lee Jung-jae." Keep up the work. It's your talent. Every time I drink, I get in trouble. It seems to motivate me a lot. I think the driving force is that a senior I respect says 'I like you as an actor' and 'You shouldn't rest'. I don't think I'm talking about grandiose things. I don't think I talk about marketability or anything like that, rather than talking about Hollywood works or larger markets."
Pachinko 2 is a series based on the New York Times bestselling book of the same name, released in 2022. 'Pachinko' is a chronicle of four generations of love and survival through the eyes of Seon-ja (Yoon Yeo-jeong, Kim Min-ha), a strong mother who has rooted in an unfamiliar land to live proudly for herself. Season 1 of 'Pachinko', which warmly captures epic poems unfolding between Korea, Japan, and the United States, proved its workability by dominating the world's leading award ceremonies, including the Critics Choice Awards and Gotham Awards.
Season 2 of 'Pachinko' has a total of eight episodes, with one episode being released every Friday on Apple TV+, starting on the 23rd.
