Seungri Clarifies Recent Club Sightings in Bali

Seungri, a former member of BIGBANG, addressed recent reports about his sightings at a club in Bali, Indonesia, explaining the situation and denying certain claims made in the media.

On August 12, Maeil Economy reported that Seungri was spotted at S Club, a beachfront club in Bali, on August 10. According to the report, Seungri was seen interacting with women, reportedly of Korean descent, inside the club.

In a video referenced by the media, Seungri is allegedly seen conversing with a woman who asked, "Seung-hyun (Seungri's real name), will you buy it for me?" to which Seungri reportedly responded, "I'll buy it for you." Additionally, another member of Seungri's group reportedly invited other Korean tourists to join them at their accommodation nearby, saying, "Our place is just five minutes away. Let's go and hang out together."

In response to the reports, Seungri spoke to Ilgan Sports, denying the claims. He clarified, "The woman in the video is the girlfriend of an acquaintance who was on vacation with us. I never spoke to any Korean tourists. The person talking to them was someone else in our group, not me."

Seungri further expressed his frustration, stating, "It’s being reported as if I was the one saying 'let’s go to the accommodation and play together,' but that wasn’t me—it was someone else in the group. Like any ordinary person, I'm simply enjoying my vacation with friends. The situation has been twisted into something negative, which is really embarrassing."

Seungri has been under public scrutiny since his involvement in the 2019 Burning Sun scandal, where he faced nine charges, including violations related to prostitution mediation, habitual gambling, and embezzlement. He was sentenced to one and a half years in prison in May 2022. After serving his sentence, Seungri was released from prison in February 2023.
