On August 12, Maeil Economy reported that Seungri was observed multiple times at the S Club, located on a beach in Bali, on August 10.
The report included a video in which Seungri is seen conversing with women, believed to be Koreans, inside the club. In the video, one woman is heard asking, "Seung-hyun (Seungri's real name), will you buy it for me?" To this, Seungri responded, "I'll buy it for you, I'll buy it for you." Another member of Seungri's group reportedly invited other Korean tourists to join them at their accommodation, saying, "Our place is five minutes away. Let's go and hang out together."
Recently, Seungri had announced his intention to attend an event in Indonesia at the end of the month under the name "Burning Sun Surabaya," which has heightened public interest in his activities.
On August 11, U.S.-based Korean entertainment news site All K-Pop reported that event management company TSV Management announced on social media that Seungri would be attending the event as a special guest on August 31. This news triggered a wave of negative reactions in Korea, with many criticizing Seungri for his involvement, calling it "bold" and accusing him of lacking remorse.

Seungri also denied previous rumors about his involvement in a party in Cambodia and a club business in Hong Kong, saying, "These claims are completely false." He addressed criticism he received for allegedly mentioning former BIGBANG member G-Dragon's name while intoxicated at a party in Cambodia. "I made a mistake while drunk, and I deeply regret it. It was wrong, and it won't happen again," Seungri said.
Meanwhile, Seungri was a central figure in the 2019 Burning Sun scandal, which led to his trial on nine charges, including violating the Special Act on Prostitution Mediation and Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes, habitual gambling, violating the Food Sanitation Act, violating the Foreign Exchange Transaction Act, embezzlement, and special assault. In May 2022, he was sentenced to one and a half years in prison. After serving his sentence, he was released from prison in February last year.
