NCT's Taeil Accused in Sex Crime, Exits Group

On the 28th, SM Entertainment announced, "We recently confirmed that Taeil has been accused in a criminal case related to a sexual crime. While investigating the facts, we recognized the severity of the matter."
As a result, SM immediately decided on his departure. "We have determined that Taeil can no longer continue his activities with the team," the statement added.
Taeil is currently under police investigation. SM stated, "We will provide additional statements as the investigation progresses," and "We deeply apologize for causing such a disturbance."
Taeil debuted with NCT in 2016 and has been active as the main vocalist of the group. He was also a member of the sub-group NCT 127 and the unit NCT U.

We recently confirmed that Taeil has been accused in a criminal case related to sex crimes. In this regard, we recognized that the issue was very serious while grasping the facts, so we decided that we could no longer continue our team activities. After discussing with Taeil, we decided that he would withdraw from the team.
Taeil is currently faithfully cooperating with the police investigation, and we will provide additional statements depending on the progress of the investigation.
