ADOR refutes former CEO Min Hee-jin's claims about production contract.
On August 30, ADOR addressed claims made by former CEO Min Hee-jin regarding the fairness of a contract related to the production of the group NewJeans. According to ADOR, the short-term, two-month contract offered to Min Hee-jin was structured to coincide with the period of her tenure as an in-house director. ADOR explained that if the contract needed to be extended beyond this period, it would require renewal at that time. This procedure, ADOR stated, applies uniformly to all directors.
ADOR also responded to concerns about the contract's termination clause, which Min Hee-jin had criticized as having toxic provisions. ADOR clarified that the contract included minimum safeguards to prevent significant harm to the company's management. The contract, according to ADOR, was designed similarly to those used for other executives and included standard provisions.
ADOR expressed regret that Min Hee-jin's criticisms were made public, suggesting that the matter could have been resolved through internal discussions. ADOR emphasized that the issues raised were normal matters that could be addressed through consultation within the company.
Earlier, Min Hee-jin had publicly criticized the contract, calling it unfair and laden with provisions that could lead to its unilateral termination by ADOR. On August 30, Min Hee-jin accused the ADOR board of orchestrating a media campaign to push through the contract, which she described as a one-sided agreement with toxic terms. She further claimed that she was unable to sign the contract by the August 30 deadline, signaling that the dispute was likely to continue.
