Billboard Korea, which will bring a new sensation to the K-pop market, has officially launched amid keen interest.

The Billboard K Power 100" event commemorating the launch of Billboard Korea was held at the Shilla Hotel Guest House in Seoul on the afternoon of the 27th. The event, which was attended by Piac Group, Nexplan and Simone as official sponsors, was attended by Mike Van, president of Billboard's headquarters, editor-in-chief Hannah Karp, and many officials from the music and business circles, showing the expectations of Billboard Korea.

The order of awards also drew attention as celebrities at home and abroad shone as presenters and winners. Mike Van, president of Billboard's headquarters, presented the 'Culture Impact Award' to Hyundai Card Vice Chairman Chung Tae-young and the 'Innovative brand' award to Samsung Electronics CMO Lee Young-hee.

Dr. Oh Eun-young presented The Boys with the 'Voices of Asia' award, and Park Joo-won, CEO of Simone FC, presented Baekhyun with the 'Tour of Asia' award.

In addition, Chairman Cha Ga-won presented the 'Voices of Asia' award to S.B. Ninetin and Vinny on behalf of the Piak Group and Nexplan, and Casper received the"Choreographer of Year' award from Chairman Song Byung-joon of Comtus.

In addition, PFTT won the Billboard Hot 100 Achievement, and Kakao Entertainment CEO Jang Yoon-joong won the PowerPlayers Award.

Billboard Korea publishes this 'K-Pop Artist Life Dictionary' every year to deliver key information such as introduction of artists who received attention that year, their achievements, and discography.

Billboard Korea CEO Kim Yu-na, who led the event, expressed her ambition, saying, `We will actively seek to discover the second BTS based on the know-how we have honed in the home of pop music in the future.'

Billboard Korea is the Korean branch of Billboard Media, which was acquired by PMC Group in 2020. PMC has media such as Golden Globe, Variety, Art News, South by Southwest, Rolling Stone, WWD, and Art Forum under its wing.
