 BTS Suga is sent without detention on charges of drunk driving after being handed over to the prosecution

Suga (Min Yoon-ki, 31), a member of the group BTS (BTS), who drove an electric scooter while drunk, was handed over to the prosecution.

According to the police, Yongsan Police Station in Seoul sent Suga to the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office without detention on charges of drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act at around 2 p.m. on the 30th.

Suga is accused of driving an electric scooter on the street in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, at around 11:15 p.m. on the 6th. Electric scooters are classified as 'car' under the Road Traffic Act.

At the time, Suga told the police that he had only had a glass of beer, but the blood alcohol level was found to be 0.227%, significantly higher than the license revocation standard (0.08%).

Suga appeared at the police on the 23rd, 17 days after the accident, and was investigated for about three hours, and admitted to the charges.

Suga, who entered the training center in Nonsan, Chungcheongnam-do in March to receive basic military training, is currently working as a social service worker. Suga's call-up date is June 2025.
