OMEGA X's Hwichan Sent to Prosecution on Charges of Forcible Harassment

Hwichan, a member of the group OMEGA X, has been handed over to the prosecution on charges of forcibly harassing the former CEO of their agency.

Seoul Seongdong Police Station sent Hwichan to the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office on charges of forced harassment on the 2nd, according to a statement.

OMEGA X's former agency, Spire Entertainment, stated in a press conference in March that "While Kang was consoling Hwichan, who was distressed ahead of his enlistment, Hwichan suddenly molested Kang." Spire filed a complaint with the police regarding this incident.

Spire added, "We hesitated to file a criminal complaint because we did not want to label a young member as a sex offender, but OMEGA X members responded by suing the victim, Kang, on charges of forced harassment." In response, OMEGA X refuted the claims, stating, "It was an act of coercion by former CEO Kang."

Meanwhile, OMEGA X held a press conference in November 2022, revealing that former CEO Kang had assaulted, verbally abused, and repeatedly molested them. Following a legal dispute with Spire, OMEGA X terminated its exclusive contract with the agency by mutual agreement in May last year and subsequently moved to their new agency, IPQ, in July of the same year.
