Lisa Announces August 16 Comeback with New Single Amidst Plagiarism Controversy

Lisa, who remained silent amidst the 'plagiarism controversy', announced her high-speed comeback.

On the 6th, Lisa revealed through the official website of LLOUD Co. that her new song 'NEW WOMAN' will be released at 9 a.m. on the 16th. The new single comes just two months after the release of 'ROCKSTAR' in June. The track will feature Rosalia, a global pop star known for her friendship with Lisa.

However, Lisa's recent moves have been met with some regret. She left her former agency, YG Entertainment, to establish her own label, LLOUD Co., and released her debut solo song 'ROCKSTAR' in June, marking the start of her solo career.

Notably, Lisa's 'ROCKSTAR' debuted at #70 on the Spotify Global Chart and the US Billboard Main Singles Chart 'Hot 100'. It also reached a new career high by ranking fourth on the Billboard Global 200 Weekly Chart and topping the U.S. chart.

However, Lisa faced a plagiarism controversy shortly after. Gabriel Moses, director of the music video for Travis Scott's 'FE!N', accused Lisa's 'ROCKSTAR' music video of being similar to his work. He claimed that despite Lisa's request for a work reference and his refusal, she proceeded without his approval. Lisa has yet to provide an explanation regarding these allegations.

Despite this, Lisa's 'NEW WOMAN' will be available on various online music platforms at 9 a.m. on the 16th (Korea time).
