David Yong has been charged with fraud.

Singapore's The Straits Times reported on the 3rd that David Yong and his company Evergreen Group Holdings executive A were arrested on the 1st on charges of forgery of promissory note accounts.

David Yong is accused of ordering him to forge tax invoices as if he had sold a large amount of appliances and furniture in December 2021. In addition, Evergreen Group Holdings' affiliates are accused of misusing investments raised by issuing bills promising interest of 10% per year.

Evergreen Group Holdings has been on Singapore's investor warning list since January last year and has not been eligible to provide financial services to investors. In this state, issuing promissory notes is a direct violation of the Singapore Securities and Futures Act.

If found guilty at trial, David Yong could face a fine or up to 10 years in prison.

David Yong, born in 1987, graduated from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom and worked as a lawyer before founding Evergreen Group Holdings. In 2021, he made his debut as a singer in Korea and released 'My Way', 'In My Pocket', 'Maybe We', and 'Drinking' with Yoon Min-soo, starting with the OST of 'School 2021'.

Recently, he appeared on Netflix 'Super Rich Stranger' to show off his financial talent. Evergreen Group Holdings reportedly recorded 90 billion won in annual sales, so much attention was paid to David Yong's ultra-luxury home and luxury supercar. On the 1st, he also appeared on Channel A 'Oh Eun-young's Golden Counseling Center' and confessed that he had no friends coming because of his financial resources.
