San E Faces Police Investigation Following Assault Charges



Rapper San E has been booked by the police for allegedly assaulting a passerby.

On August 19th, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced that San E has been booked on charges of special assault. The incident reportedly occurred on July 28th, around 8:30 p.m., near the entrance of a park in Mapo-gu, Seoul. It is alleged that San E used his mobile phone to strike the victim while instructing him to "drag the bicycle straight." The victim sustained significant injuries to his face, including near his eyes and mouth, due to the assault.

The police initially responded to the scene and conducted a preliminary investigation before releasing both San E and the victim. Following further inquiries, San E has been called back for additional questioning, and authorities will determine if further investigation is warranted.



San E began his career in the underground music scene by featuring on a track from Verbal Jint's second studio album "Numyeong," released in 2008. He made his official debut under JYP Entertainment in 2010 and gained popularity with the hit song "A Midsummer Night's Sweetness." San E also served as a producer on Mnet's hip-hop survival show "Show Me the Money 3" in 2014. He married a non-celebrity two years younger than him in 2022.
