Suga's DUI Upside Down, Chaos Police Attendance → National Assembly 'Sugar Prevention Act'
The drunk driving incident of the group BTS Suga turned the Republic of Korea upside down.

On the 22nd, Suga's appearance at the police took place.

A media outlet reported on the 21st that Suga will be investigated by police on the 22nd. However, the police and Hive corrected themselves on the 22nd, saying "Sugar will not be investigated on the day." Rumors of a subpoena on the 22nd were misinformation, and the investigation schedule is still being coordinated.

However, he stressed that even if Suga is investigated by the police, there will be no preferential treatment. As with the initial position, Hive is in a position to follow the investigative agency's disposition, and the police have said they will investigate Suga on the same basis as other suspects. The photo line also cannot be arbitrarily set up by the police, he added.

In the meantime, the National Assembly called for strong regulation of drinking and driving without a license on electric kickboards or scooters.

According to the National Assembly and other sources on the 22nd, Rep. Lim Ho-seon of the Democratic Party of Korea proposed a partial amendment to the Road Traffic Act that requires drunk driving of personal mobile devices (PMs) to be punished the same as drunk driving of cars. Rep. Lee Byung-jin proposed an amendment to make it mandatory to check the driving qualifications of users when renting PM, and to impose a fine of up to 5 million won if they violate it, while Rep. Lee Chun-seok proposed an amendment to strengthen the level of punishment for driving without a license. This reflects the growing awareness of PM safety due to Suga's drunk driving of electric scooters.

Suga was found by police on the 6th while driving an electric scooter while intoxicated near his home in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. At that time, sugar's blood alcohol concentration was 0.227%, far above the license revocation standard (0.08%). The police plan to call Suga soon to ask about the details of drunk driving and whether he intended to reduce the issue.
