Judge Choi Min-hye of the Seoul Central District Court held a second trial on the 19th of Kim Ho-joong, who was indicted on charges of violating the law on aggravated punishment for specific crimes (hazardous driving injuries).
On the same day, Kim Ho-joong's lawyer said "We acknowledge all the facts of the indictment." Kim Ho-joong said he had reached an agreement with the victim of the drunk accident, and the court said it would conduct a final hearing on September 30 after reviewing the evidence records. At the final hearing, the court decides the date of the sentence after the prosecution's request and the defendant's final argument are made one after another. Usually, the sentencing date is set one month after the final hearing.
Earlier, Kim Ho-joong is accused of running away after colliding with a taxi that crossed the central line on a road in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at around 11:40 p.m. on May 9. He attended the police at around 4:30 p.m. the next day, 17 hours after the accident. In the process, it was revealed that Kim Ho-joong's manager tried to cover up the drunk driving by attending the police instead of Kim Ho-joong and removing the black box memory card in the vehicle. Lee Kwang-deuk, CEO of Thinking Entertainment, is accused of ordering Kim Ho-joong's manager to give false information (a criminal evacuation teacher). The former head of the agency's headquarters is accused of destroying evidence by removing the black box memory card of Kim Ho-joong's vehicle.
However, the prosecution ruled out the charge of drunk driving at the prosecution stage, saying that the police could not confirm the drunk driving level only by the method that the police calculated reversely because Kim Ho-joong drank several times at a time interval.
