The arrest period for singer Kim Ho-joong (33), who was arrested and charged with hit-and-run, has been extended.

According to the legal community on the 12th, Judge Choi Min-hye of the Seoul Central District Court decided to renew the arrest period for Kim Ho-joong, who was arrested and charged with dangerous driving injuries and runaways under the Specific Crime Weighted Penalty Act, non-action after an accident under the Road Traffic Act, and criminal escape assistance. It was the first renewal of Kim Ho-joong's arrest since he was indicted on June 18 before his arrest expired. As a result, Kim Ho-joong's arrest period has been extended until October.

The arrest period for Lee Kwang-deuk, CEO of Sasang Entertainment, and the former head of the division, who were arrested and charged along with Kim Ho-joong, was also renewed on the same day. Under the Criminal Procedure Act, the defendant's initial arrest period is two months, and the court can renew it twice every two months, and the maximum arrest period is six months.

Earlier, Kim Ho-joong is accused of running away after colliding with a taxi that crossed the central line on a road in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at around 11:40 p.m. on May 9. He attended the police at around 4:30 p.m. the next day, 17 hours after the accident. In the process, it was revealed that Kim Ho-joong's manager tried to cover up the drunk driving by attending the police instead of Kim Ho-joong and removing the black box memory card in the vehicle. CEO Lee is accused of ordering Kim Ho-joong's manager to give false information (a criminal escapist). Jeon is suspected of destroying evidence by removing the black box memory card of Kim Ho-joong's vehicle.

At the second trial on the 19th, Kim Ho-joong will reveal whether the prosecution will admit the prosecution's indictment. Kim Ho-joong's lawyer said at the last hearing that `If we give the opportunity on the date of the next session because we failed to read the case record, we will reveal whether we will admit the prosecution at that time.'
