According to the U.S.-based Korean entertainment news site All-K-Pop, Seungri is set to appear as a special guest at an event hosted by TSV Management on August 31st. The event will be held at the Gentlemen's Club in Surabaya, Indonesia, and promotional posters featuring Seungri have already been released.
News of Seungri's participation in the event has sparked a cold response in South Korea. Seungri, a former member of the popular group BIGBANG, was embroiled in the 2019 Burning Sun scandal, which involved allegations of assault, sex crimes, and drug use at a club in Gangnam. Seungri, once adored by fans since his debut in 2006, saw his reputation collapse after being identified as a central figure in the scandal. He faced multiple charges, including violating the Special Act on Prostitution Intermediation, engaging in prostitution, habitual gambling, violating the Food Sanitation Act, and embezzlement.
In May 2022, Seungri was sentenced to one and a half years in prison and was transferred to a civilian prison after serving part of his sentence in the military. He was released in February 2023.

Moreover, in May of this year, Seungri was seen singing BIGBANG's hit song "Bang Bang Bang" at a birthday party for one of Malaysia's wealthiest individuals. Videos of the event showed Seungri in a grey suit, performing energetically while attendees cheered. He also interacted with guests, taking photos and responding to the crowd, further fueling criticism that he has not changed.
