Koo Ho-in, the late Koo Ha-ra's brother, expressed his joy over the passage of the Gu Ha-ra Act (revised civil law).

On the 28th, Goo Ki-in posted a message on his personal account, "#SaveHaraLaw #FastFastFastFastFastFastFastFastFast!!"I captured and uploaded an article containing the news that the Save the Hara Act was passed.

He went on to "Small interests were gathered and finally passed. I wish you all good health and happiness during your hard times. We sincerely thank you."

Earlier in the day, the National Assembly held a plenary session and passed the Save the Hara Act. The Guhara Act, proposed in June 2020, is a civil law amendment that restricts the inheritance rights of heirs who have not fulfilled their obligation to support.

It was created in 2019 when Koo Ki-in petitioned for legislation, saying that his own mother, who abandoned her young Gu Ha-ra and ran away from home, only appeared for 20 years after her brother's death and wanted to receive half of the inherited property.

The Guhara Act will come into force in January 2026. The amendment stated that the loss of inheritance rights is possible if the heir fails to fulfill their obligation to support or commits serious criminal acts such as abuse. In order to lose the actual inheritance right, the will of the heir or the joint heir must request it, and the family court must accept it.
