Actor and producer Lee Jung-jae continues his constant challenge as a global creative artist.
On the afternoon of the 27th, a special session 'Lee Jung-jae: Endless Challenge' was held at the COEX Conference Room in Samseong-dong, Seoul. Lee Jung-jae participated in the event as a speaker.
Lee Jung-jae became the first Asian actor to win the Emmy Award for Best Actor through the Netflix original series 'Squid Game', which was released in 2021. Lee Jung-jae became the first Asian actor to enter the world view of Star Wars through Disney+ 'Acolite', which was released in June. He was the first Asian to play the Jedi master, saying, "'Actually, I'm not good at English, so I wonder if there are a lot of English lines.'" He did not only act as an actor but also as a director. Lee Jung-jae made his directorial debut through the film 「Hunt」 released in 2022 and won the 43rd Blue Dragon Film Award for Best New Director. "When I just debuted, I heard a lot of stories about actors only acting. I shouldn't do anything else and I had to live my life focusing only on acting. Back then, it was in the early 90s, so young people in their 20s had a little flirtation. 'Why can't I do that?' I've always had the question that," he said.
