San E Issues Apology Amid Assault Controversy

On August 19, rapper San E addressed the controversy surrounding his recent assault case through a statement issued by his legal representative.

San expressed deep remorse, stating, "First of all, I bow down and apologize to the victims of my recent assault case. I was initially compelled to apologize through a formal statement, but I would prefer to meet the victim in person to seek forgiveness." He continued, "I am truly sorry for disappointing many of you. Please feel free to hold me accountable for my actions."

According to the Chosun Ilbo, San E was booked by the police on August 17 on charges of special assault. The incident reportedly occurred on July 28 at a park in Mapo-gu, Seoul, around 8:30 p.m., where San allegedly assaulted a passerby, identified as A, using a mobile phone. The altercation began after San E instructed A to "drag the bicycle straight," and A claimed to have sustained injuries to his eyes and teeth.

San's father, who was present at the scene, was also booked for allegedly hitting A. Both San E and his father, along with A, have been charged with assault.

San E, who debuted in 2008 and is known for songs such as "Story of Someone I Know" and "A Midsummer Night's Sweetness," has recently been involved as a producer for Mnet's "Show Me the Money."
