The donation will be used in various ways to help children with rare and intractable diseases, including medical expenses, education, psychological counseling, medical supplies, milk support and home-visit delivery for the health of elderly people alone, support for the replacement of aging elevators in facilities for the severely disabled, support for the creation of convenience facilities in infant homes, and support for rehabilitation treatment costs.
Starting with supporting heating costs for the socially vulnerable in January this year, IU donated a total of 200 million won to the Korean Association for Single Mothers in the name of 'IUanna' to celebrate her birthday in May. Donations delivered to each organization at the time were used to support artificial cochlear surgeries, speech rehabilitation treatments, and external devices for children and adolescents with hearing impairments, as well as vulnerable groups in need.
In addition to the debut anniversary, IU has been continuing her donation activities for the vulnerable in society, including Children's Day, the end of the year, and birthdays.
