According to Field News on the 19th, the Gangnam Tax Office Investigation Division under the Seoul National Tax Service conducted a weeks-long high-intensity tax investigation against Yoo Jae-seok from June to July.
The tax audit was a regular tax audit conducted on high-income people such as celebrities.
Among them, Yoo Jae-seok reportedly purchased buildings and land located in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul for 8.2 billion won and 11.6 billion won, respectively, and conducted an intensive tax audit considering his annual income.
In addition to the building purchased by Yoo Jae-seok in full cash, the National Tax Service conducted an intensive investigation into a series of tax items such as high performance fees and expenses. Despite the intense tax probe, however, Yoo reportedly has not found any charges, including tax omissions.
An official from the assessment agency said in the media that "It was by no means an exaggeration to say that tax returns are also national treasure."
