'Drinking hit-and-run'Kim Ho-joong submits his first letter of apology ahead of bail interrogation
Singer Kim Ho-joong, who was arrested and charged with 'Drinking hit-and-run', submitted a letter of apology for the first time ahead of his bail interrogation.

According to the legal community on the 6th, Kim Ho-joong submitted a letter of apology to the Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Chamber 26 (judge Choi Min-hye) on the 5th. Officials, including the head of the agency who was arrested along with Kim Ho-joong, submitted several letters of apology, but this is the first time that Kim Ho-joong wrote a letter of apology.

Kim Ho-joong is accused of running away after hitting a taxi while drinking and driving on the road in Sinsa-dong, Seoul, at around 11:40 p.m. on May 9, and having his manager turn himself in instead. Although he admitted to drinking alcohol, he did not have a record because he attended the police late after fleeing, and he did not apply the drunk driving charge because he believed it was difficult to specify the drinking level only by reverse calculation over time. Currently, Kim Ho-joong's arrest period has been extended by two months and changed to October.

At the second trial held on the 19th of last month, Kim Ho-joong admitted all charges", he explained that he had agreed with the victim of the drunk accident. In response, the court said it would hold a final hearing at 10 a.m. on the 30th after reviewing the evidence records. Later, Kim Ho-joong requested bail on the 21st of last month, two days later. Bail is a system in which the accused is released on conditions such as paying a deposit set by the court and promising to attend the trial.

As the court usually decides whether to grant bail after the interrogation process, Kim Ho-joong is expected to remain in custody until the end of October. The bail interrogation date for Kim Ho-joong will be held at 10 a.m. on the 30th.
