'K-Pop Contributions to Globalization'SM, Google Korea'20th Anniversary Accompanied Partnership' Award for Appreciation plaque

SM Entertainment (hereinafter SM, co-CEO Jang Chul-hyuk and Tak Young-joon) received a plaque of appreciation from Google Korea.

At the 4th 'Google for Korea 2024' event held at the Opera House of the Seoul Arts Center on the 30th, SM announced that co-CEO Jang Chul-hyuk won the "2020 Accompanied Partnership' appreciation plaque in the culture category.

Google Korea said it selected SM as the winner of the cultural category as a thank you for SM's achievements based on its long-standing partnership, such as ▲ a leader in the global expansion of K-pop ▲ the role of K-pop in the 1990s and 2000s music videos to showcase the history of K-pop to global music fans.




On this day, SM co-CEO Jang Chul-hyuk said, `We sincerely congratulate Google on its 20th anniversary of its entry into Korea, and it is a great honor for SM to receive the award.'"SM began operating its official YouTube channel in 2009 for the first time as a Korean entertainment company, and has introduced various contents to K-pop fans around the world, including music videos by artists, with more than 103 million subscriptions and more than 100 billion views worldwide. I hope that we will continue to cooperate with each other so that YouTube can be filled with richer content through SM's good content in the future."

The 'Google for Korea' event is a representative event of Google that shares examples of digital innovation and successful partnerships that Google and Korea are creating together, and this year, in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Google Korea, we invited partners and domestic and foreign guests who have had special relationships.
