'Lee Seung-man's donation controversy'Lee Young-ae helps the DJ this time...Donation of KRW 50 million for the purchase of a private residence
Actor Lee Young-ae reportedly donated 50 million won during the repurchase process to preserve former President Kim Dae Jung's Donggyo-dong private residence.

The Kim Dae-jung Foundation held a repurchase agreement ceremony with businessman Park, who bought former President Kim's private residence at the Yeouido office in Seoul on the 26th.

Lee Young-ae reportedly joined forces to help the foundation's efforts to preserve the Donggyo-dong private residence. In addition to Lee Young-ae, Park Ji-won, a lawmaker of the Democratic Party of Korea, also decided to pay 600 million won. The Kim Dae-jung Foundation plans to raise funds to repurchase their homes through a fundraising campaign.

Bae Ki-sun, secretary-general of the Kim Dae-jung Foundation, said, `The Donggyo-dong residence is a space of historical significance and cultural value,' adding, `I will accept Lee Hee-oh's will to permanently preserve the residence in its original form.'" he said.

Lee Young-ae, a leading donation angel in the entertainment industry, has been continuously donating. In particular, as a member of a military family, he is active in donating veterans-related donations.

Earlier, Lee Young-ae was embroiled in a political controversy last year after it was revealed that she donated 50 million won to the President Syngman Rhee Memorial Promotion Committee, which is pushing for the construction of the Presidential Memorial Hall.

In response, Lee Young-ae explained, `I do not mean to cover the mistakes of former President Lee Seung-man, but to keep the mistakes in history, but to look at the achievements and unite,' and `I am sorry again if this participation in the fundraising for President Rhee Syng-man's memorial service caused inconvenience to the people with different opinions.'
