Nam Joo-hyuk Discharged, Considers Role in 'Donggung'

Actor Nam Joo-hyuk was discharged from the military today (19th) after completing his mandatory service.

Nam enlisted on March 20 last year and, following five weeks of basic training, was assigned to the 32nd Division of the Military Police.

The 32nd Division's Military Police, known as the 'Baekryong Unit', is based in Geumnam-myeon, Sejong Special Self-Governing City, and is responsible for defending Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungnam. During his service, Nam was involved in security activities and case investigations within the division.

Before enlisting, Nam completed filming for the Disney+ original series 'Vigilante', providing a project for fans to look forward to during his military absence.

It has also been reported that Nam is positively considering a role in the upcoming action period drama 'Donggung'.

'Donggung' is described as a dark fantasy centered on various ghosts appearing in a secretive palace. The plot follows a ghost hunter and a court lady as they sneak into the palace to confront these supernatural occurrences. Nam is expected to star alongside No Yoon-seo and Cho Seung-woo.
