BLACKPINK’s Jennie Clarifies Fan Club Name Amid Controversy

BLACKPINK’s Jennie has addressed the controversy surrounding her fan club name.

On the 19th, her agency, OA Entertainment, stated, "‘Rubies’ is merely the name of a news page that provides updates to fans and is not Jennie's official fandom name."

Previously, Jennie had appeared on the official channel, saying, "Hello, Rubies, I'm Jennie. Please keep an eye on me. See you soon," in a voice message. This led to speculation that her personal fandom name might be 'Ruby'. However, the name 'Ruby' has already sparked controversy, as Rubi is the official fandom name of singer Kwon Eun-bi.

Jennie is currently preparing for her solo comeback in October after signing a partnership with American record label Columbia Records.
