IU Marks Debut Anniversary with Generous Donations
Singer IU, affiliated with EDAM Entertainment, warmly celebrated her debut anniversary on September 18.

On this date, EDAM Entertainment stated that IU donated a total of KRW 250 million to the Korean Organization for Children's Rare Diseases, Corporation of Milk Delivery for Elderly, Hansarang Village, and Hansarang Infant Care under the name "IUaena," which combines IU’s name with that of her official fan club, Uaena.

IU has consistently engaged in donation activities under the name "IUaena" each year on her debut anniversary to express gratitude for the love and support from her fans. This year's donation will support children with rare and intractable diseases by covering medical expenses, education, psychological counseling, medical supplies, milk support, home-visit services for elderly individuals living alone, replacement of aging elevators in facilities for the severely disabled, creation of convenience facilities in infant homes, and rehabilitation treatment costs.

Starting with support for heating costs for the socially vulnerable in January this year, IU donated a total of KRW 200 million to the Korean Association for Single Mothers under the name "IUaena" to celebrate her birthday in May. These donations were utilized to support artificial cochlear surgeries, speech rehabilitation treatments, and external devices for children and adolescents with hearing impairments, as well as other vulnerable groups in need.

In addition to her debut anniversary, IU has continued her donation efforts for vulnerable populations on occasions such as Children's Day, year-end holidays, and her birthdays. Through these continuous contributions, she promotes a culture of sharing, encourages public participation, and enhances societal co-prosperity.

Through her agency, IU expressed, "Thanks to Uaena, I have a heart and values filled with love, and I'm happy to be able to do something so meaningful every year under the name of 'IUaena.' It's a small help, but I hope it's a good gift for those who receive it. Thank you, Uaena, for always instilling love in my heart. Let's continue this journey for a really long time ♥."

Meanwhile, IU is scheduled to perform at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on September 21 and 22 as part of the "2024 IU HEREH WORLD TOUR CONCERT ENCORE: THE WINNING." Following her 2022 performance at the Jamsil Main Stadium, this Sangam concert has garnered attention by once again setting a record as a first for a female musician.
