On the 26th, the Seoul Drama Awards 2024 Secretariat issued an apology regarding the cancellation of Yoo Hwe-seung's scheduled performance at the Seoul Drama Awards 2024 ceremony, which took place on the 25th.
Yoo Hwe-seung had been preparing backstage at KBS Public Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, to perform a celebratory stage. However, his performance was abruptly canceled just before he was set to go on. While the performances of NMIXX and ZeroBaseOne proceeded as planned, Yoo Hwe-seung's stage was unexpectedly canceled without prior notice.
The Seoul Drama Awards explained that the cancellation was due to delays during the live broadcast, as the first part of the ceremony ran longer than expected.
"We sincerely apologize to the artist, who worked hard to prepare a great performance, as well as to the fans and viewers who were eagerly waiting," the Secretariat stated.
The Secretariat also conveyed that they had immediately apologized to Yoo Hwe-seung after the live broadcast and assured that such incidents would not occur again in the future.
The organizing committee further promised, "We will take greater care and be more thorough in our preparations to prevent this from happening again."
Earlier, Yoo Hwe-seung shared a message with his fans: "I don't know the full details, but while I was waiting backstage, the performance was suddenly canceled. I left after being informed that my turn had been skipped. I apologize to my friends who had come to support me from early in the morning and waited patiently. I'm sorry I couldn’t perform for you."
