'Kang Daniel defamation'Taldeok concentration camp fined KRW 10 million'No reflection'

Park, the operator of the cyber lacquer Taldeok concentration camp, who was put on trial for defaming singer Kang Daniel by spreading false information, was fined 10 million won.

On the 11th, Judge Lee Joon-gu of the Seoul Central District Court sentenced Park to a fine of 10 million won on charges of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communication Network Utilization and Information Protection.

This is more than three times the fine of 3 million won sought by the prosecution last month.

Judge Lee needs to strictly punish the defamation crime using YouTube in that provocative and sensational content about famous celebrities can cause damage that is difficult to recover by posting it on YouTube in the pursuit of economic benefits"The defendant does not show an attitude of consistent reflection with unconvincing excuses. No forgiveness from the victim and no action was taken to repair the damage" he ruled.

In 2022, Park was accused of defaming Kang Daniel by posting a video titled 「The promiscuous private life of a national boyfriend actor idol」 on his YouTube channel Taldeok concentration camp.

The prosecution briefly prosecuted Park with a fine of 3 million won, but the court went to a formal trial.

Park admitted to producing and posting the video, saying, `I am sorry that I hurt the victims. I was immature and short-thinking." However, he did not recognize that it was a false fact and pleaded not guilty, saying it was an act for the public interest.

Park was also sentenced to defeat in a damage suit filed by the group IVE Jang Won-young, saying 100 million and delayed interest to Jang Won-young, but appealed. However, in addition to Jang Won-young, BTS V Jung-kook, EXO Su-ho, and Aespa have filed a complaint against Park.
