Taeyang’s Concert Marks BIGBANG’s Exciting Return

On September 1st, an unforgettable scene unfolded at Taeyang’s solo concert, 'The Light Year in Seoul', held at Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul. Over two consecutive days, even G-Dragon, who was initially in the audience, joined the stage, leading to an impromptu performance by the three remaining members of BIGBANG.

The trio reignited fans' excitement by performing hits from their 2015 era, like 'We Like to Party,' as well as GD & Taeyang’s 'Good Boy.'

What stood out the most was the energy and presence on stage, which completely overshadowed any sense of emptiness or the seven-year hiatus. The performance by G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung was flawless, and the harmony among them was impeccable.

Many fans believe that BIGBANG, having undergone recent restructuring, has emerged stronger than ever.

Since their debut in 2006, BIGBANG has been a leading force in the Korean Wave, consistently delivering hits like 'Lie,' 'Last Farewell,' 'Haru Haru,' 'Fantastic Baby,' and 'Bang Bang Bang.' They were celebrated for their all-around excellence in visuals, vocals, performance, and production skills, which were rare at the time.

However, the group faced setbacks when Seungri, the youngest member, was expelled from the entertainment industry and sentenced to prison on various charges, including prostitution and tax evasion related to Club Burning Sun. Additionally, T.O.P, who was implicated in a cannabis use scandal, announced his departure from BIGBANG upon completing his alternative military service.

These issues halted BIGBANG’s activities during the members' military service. Nonetheless, with Daesung and G-Dragon showcasing their unwavering teamwork at Taeyang’s concert, anticipation is building for a full-scale comeback by BIGBANG.
