'Is this for real?' Director-level staff strangled the broadcast writer during the filming of variety shows 'Shock'
A shocking incident occurred at the filming site of an entertainment show in which a director-level staff strangled a broadcast writer.

According to the Hanbit Media Labor and Human Rights Center and the Korea Press and Labor Union Broadcasting Writers' Branch on the 10th, a director-level staff shouted and talked to the main writer during the filming of an art entertainment program in Busan on June 30, and strangled the artist trying to restrain it. This incident was a situation where all the other staff and the general public cast members who were at the scene were witnessed.

In response, the six writers demanded an immediate response, but the production company terminated all six writers on July 9 and hired new writers, rather than taking action against the perpetrators.

It is known that production company A not only fired the writers who raised the issue after the assault of the director-level staff, but also did not pay the dismissed writers. It turned out that they are even continuing to produce the program through the newly established Q company to continue the production of the program.

The Hanbit Media Labor Human Rights Center said "The working environment in the entertainment field is very poor. In this year's case alone, more than 80 staff members in nine programs are experiencing unpaid wages, and the amount alone amounts to 600 million won. "The reality is that contracts are often not written, and for this reason, they are not properly protected by labor laws."
