Min Hee-jin Files Injunction Against ADOR, NewJeans Supports Former CEO in Live Broadcast

Did NewJeans' 'sincere' message reach Min Hee-jin? Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of ADOR, has filed an injunction to challenge ADOR’s decision to re-elect its executive director, signaling a strong counterattack against HYBE and ADOR.

On the 13th, former CEO Min Hee-jin submitted a request for an injunction to the Seoul Central District Court, seeking to convene an extraordinary shareholders' meeting and re-elect the inside director of the company. Earlier, on the 27th of last month, ADOR's board of directors dismissed Min Hee-jin and appointed Kim Joo-young as the new head of the company.

Min Hee-jin protested the dismissal, arguing that it violates the shareholder contract, which stipulates a five-year term for both the CEO and the inside director. She also contends that this action is contrary to a court decision banning the exercise of voting rights. However, HYBE and ADOR maintain that the shareholder contract can be terminated with written notice if grounds for termination exist. The contract between shareholders has been terminated and is ineffective. A lawsuit has been filed to confirm this termination, so the legal process will determine its validity.

Min Hee-jin was preparing for a provisional injunction to dispute the CEO dismissal, but on November 2, his three-year term as an inside director of ADOR expired. She called an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders before her term ended and applied for a provisional injunction to discuss her re-election as an inside director. Min Hee-jin, who was formerly the chairman, expressed her intention to be reappointed as CEO after being re-elected as a director through this injunction request.
