On the October 30th episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block,' G-Dragon, an iconic figure of his generation, made his first entertainment show appearance in 12 years, showcasing his unique personality. Last October, he was accused of violating the Narcotics Control Act but was ultimately acquitted. Many fans cheered and consoled him, attributing the case to an unjust investigation that resembled a witch hunt.
During the interview, G-Dragon indirectly expressed his thoughts on the ordeal. Reflecting on his return after a seven-year hiatus, he said, "These days, I’m so immersed in being G-Dragon that I’m rediscovering myself. It feels like I’m going back to my normal life." He continued, "I’ve been living as if I’ve stayed in my twenties for about 10 years, letting myself go in a good way. My mood is as refreshing as the wind right now. I’ve led a splendid life for more than half of my years."
He added, "Looking back, I feel more grounded now. My outlook has changed; I may seem different in appearance and speech, but I like this shift."
G-Dragon admitted, "I try to work within my limits, but sometimes it feels like I’m backed into a corner without answers. Now, I realize the problem is seeing it as a 'corner,' when there’s a hidden stage behind it. Back then, I was mentally drained, struggling to move forward, and caught in dangerous thoughts. I’ve learned I just need to exist authentically, even if it feels forced at times. I didn’t want to keep facing crises the same way I did in the past."

G-Dragon continued, "From a third-party view, my life might seem enviable. On world tours, fans sing along wherever I go, but I often felt like I never left the studio or stage." He compared his life to 'The Truman Show,' explaining, "Many people like and love me, but I was hesitant to show them my true self. Back then, I was weighed down by such thoughts."
Reflecting on the hardships he kept private, he said, “It was a difficult time to seek comfort from anyone. Everything looked perfect on the outside, yet I felt turmoil within. Just days before enlisting, I was still at the venue."
Meanwhile, G-Dragon is now committed to combating drug abuse, having been cleared of his drug-related charges. He has established a foundation to support drug eradication and youth addiction treatment, donating 300 million won and his prize money from 'You Quiz' to the cause.
