BTS' J-Hope has been discharged from the military in good health, amid congratulations from fellow member Jin.

J-Hope completed his 18 months of military service on the 17th, becoming BTS's second member to fulfill his military duties after Jin, who was discharged in June.

On the day of his discharge, J-Hope saluted reporters with a bright "Loyalty!" and smiled warmly at the cheering fans. Jin made a surprise appearance to celebrate J-Hope's return, handing him a large bouquet of flowers. The two shared a heartfelt hug, expressing their joy.

Afterward, J-Hope approached the reporters and said, "I was discharged healthy and well. Thank you. Thank you to the reporters for coming all this way. Thanks to the fans, we finished it well in good health." Jin playfully held up J-Hope's microphone during his speech, making him laugh.

J-Hope shared, "I've marched a lot in the military over the past year and a half. Whenever that happened, the citizens of Wonju cheered for the soldiers. I was so moved, and I thank you." He continued, "What I have felt over the past year and a half is that many Korean soldiers are working hard, dedicating themselves to protect the country. I think it will be even more meaningful if people pay keen attention and show love to them."

Lastly, J-Hope said, "Thank you so much for waiting. Thank you for your great support and love. I was discharged from the military in good health."

Following his discharge, J-Hope plans to shoot new content immediately with Jin. During a recent live show, Jin hinted, "Why don't we kidnap J-Hope on the day he's discharged and shoot content right away?"

Earlier, major foreign media outlets, as well as ARMYs (the fandom name) from all over the world and domestic reporters, gathered at the site from early morning. Fans celebrated J-Hope's discharge by hanging balloons and banners with phrases like "Congratulations to J-Hope" and "From Jung Ho-seok to J-Hope."

Before his discharge, J-Hope wrote on a fan community platform, "I feel a little stronger when I see the fountain that has become lighter after organizing my luggage and distributing well-used items to my successors. I'm looking back on my military life, and I'm proud."

Meanwhile, with J-Hope completing his military service as the second member after Jin, BTS is getting closer to resuming full group activities next year. Currently, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are serving in the military, while Suga is working as a social service worker.
